Stanimir Mihaylov, the Candidate of We Continue the Change and Democratic Bulgaria for a Director of the National Health Insurance Fund, has submitted a false-statement declaration, Epicenter.bg has stated.

‘We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria’ has proposed the former banker Stanimir Mihaylov to be appointed as a director of National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF).

He will be heard at an extraordinary meeting of the relevant parliamentary committee next Monday.

In the reasons for his nomination, We Continue the Change-DB states that Mihailov has the necessary qualities for the position and to contribute to public trust in the health fund.

One of the main criteria for the promotion of his candidacy is his long-term experience in the financial and economic sphere and professional experience in the field of health care management, PP-DB points out.

in a real estate transaction. The attached documents show that on 17/04/2009 Stanimir Mihailov bought a 50 sq m apartment on Fritjof Nansen Blvd. for BGN 30,000 with a tax assessment of BGN 29,658.50 (See Annex 1)

A month later, he mortgaged it (on 21.05.2009) to the bank where he works - "Tokuda Bank" for BGN 115,000. He actually mortgaged it for an amount of nearly 4 times the purchase price. (See Annex 2)

On 17.12.2010 sold it to his partner Fernando Pereira in "FERTAPER" OOD and Maria Pereira for BGN 88,800. (See Annex 3). In this notarial deed he declares

incorrect data in item 3, that the apartment in question is not mortgaged, i.e. submits a declaration with false content. This is a crime under Article 313 of the Criminal Code. (See Annex 4).

The mortgage in question was canceled on 12.01.2011. (See Annex 5). The above data speak of the deliberate acquisition of properties at discounted prices below the market valuation in order to evade local taxes and fees and thus damage the municipal budget.
