Navalny's Mother Pays a Visits to His Grave Acoompanied by His Mother-In-Low

The day following the funeral of Alexei Navalny, the prominent Russian opposition leader, his mother, Lyudmila Navalnaya, paid a visit to his gravesite. Thousands of Russians had defied potential arrest to honor the anti-corruption activist at his burial ceremony.

Navalny, a vocal critic of Vladimir Putin for over a decade, passed away last month while serving a 19-year prison term on charges of "extremism," widely perceived as retaliation for his opposition to the Kremlin.

Lyudmila Navalnaya was joined by Alla Abrosimova, the mother of Navalny's widow, Yulia Navalnaya, at Borisovo cemetery in southern Moscow, where his grave was adorned with flowers and wreaths. Meanwhile, Yulia Navalnaya, along with the couple's children and Navalny's brother, residing abroad, couldn't attend the funeral due to the risk of arrest stemming from their opposition to the Russian government.

Undeterred, Navalnaya vowed to carry on her husband's legacy and accused Putin of being complicit in Navalny's demise.

The day after Navalny's burial, a few mourners continued to lay flowers at his grave, under the watchful eye of a persistent police presence near the Moskva River's banks.
